Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Honest Dog Nutrition (“we”, “us”) about your use of Honest Dog Nutrition (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

The Service lets you record your pets, build homemade food recipes, and compare the estimated nutrients in a recipe with published targets. It is an information tool. It is not veterinary advice — please read the Not veterinary advice notice, which is part of these terms.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
• Give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect misuse.
• We may limit signups (for example by invitation) and may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the Service or other people at risk.

3. Plans and payments

Every account is currently on a free plan. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price, billing period, and what is included before you pay, take payment through a payment processor (we do not store card numbers), and let you cancel from your account page at any time. 4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you put into the Service (pet details, recipes, custom ingredients, photos). You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it so we can run the Service for you, including sending label photos to our AI provider to read them (see the Privacy Policy). If you submit a custom ingredient for review and we approve it, you agree it may be added to the shared ingredient library for all users, without your name.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not break the law, probe or attack the Service, scrape it at scale, or try to access other people’s data.
• Do not upload content you have no right to upload, or anything unlawful, harmful or infringing.
• Do not misuse the label scanner or other features in ways that place unreasonable load on the Service; we may set usage limits.

6. Data sources and accuracy

Food composition and requirement figures come from third-party sources (for example USDA FoodData Central and the NRC and AAFCO publications) and, for some products, from manufacturer labels. We work to use them accurately and to show how reliable each number is, but we do not guarantee that any figure, recommendation or result is complete, current or error-free.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that a recipe is complete and balanced, safe for your pet, or suitable for any medical condition.

8. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or harm to a pet, arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM.]

9. Ending things

You can delete your account and all your data yourself from the account page at any time; you can also download a copy first. We may suspend or end the Service or your access, and will give reasonable notice where we can.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you (for example by email or a notice in the app) and ask you to accept it. Using the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and disputes will be handled in its courts, except where the law of your place of residence says otherwise. Questions: hello@honestdognutrition.com.
